CAMP FIRE USA PARTNERS WITH YOUTH SERVICE AMERICA
TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL & GLOBAL YOUTH SERVICE DAY 2007, APRIL 20-22
Kansas City, MO – Camp Fire USA, one of the
nation's leading youth development organizations, has committed
to serve as a National Partner for National & Global Youth
Service Day 2007. Among 115 National Partners, Camp Fire USA
encourages its youth members to participate in the world's
largest service event, National & Global Youth Service Day,
on April 20-22.
A program of Youth Service
America, National & Global Youth Service Day is a public
awareness and education campaign that highlights the amazing
contributions that young people make to their communities 365
days a year. On April 20-22, young people will design and
lead service-learning projects in areas such as disaster-relief,
literacy, the environment, healthcare, hunger, public safety
and more. National & Global Youth Service Day engages millions
of young people in service and draws together a remarkable
consortium of local, regional and national partners, while
supporting youth on a life-long path of service and civic
engagement. To strengthen this effort, State Farm Companies
Foundation is the Presenting Sponsor of National & Global
Youth Service Day 2007.
"Service and service-learning
are key components of Camp Fire USA, and we're honored to serve
as a National Partner once again," said Jill Pasewalk, National
President/CEO Designate, Camp Fire USA. "We strongly encourage
our youth members, as well as all youth across the globe, to
take the initiative and make a difference in their communities.
Young people have so much energy to give, and, through National
& Global Youth Service Day, they can increase their experience
and solidify their commitment to bettering the world around
them."
Camp Fire USA councils across
the nation will be conducting unique service-learning projects
to fill their local community needs. If you are interested in
volunteering for a Camp Fire USA project, please contact the
Camp Fire USA council nearest you.
