CAMP FIRE USA PARTNERS WITH YOUTH SERVICE
AMERICA FOR NATIONAL YOUTH SERVICE DAY 2005, APRIL 15-17
Camp Fire USA Youth Member Across the U.S. Respond to Community
Needs by Serving Other
(Kansas City, Mo.) Camp Fire USA, one
of the nation's leading youth development organizations,
has committed to serve as a National Partner for Youth Service
America's National Youth Service Day 2005. Among 115 National
Partners, Camp Fire USA encourages its youth members-and
youth throughout the country-to participate in the world's
largest service event, National Youth Service Day, on April
15-17.
A program of Youth Service America, National
Youth Service Day is a public awareness and education campaign
that highlights the amazing contributions that young people
make to their communities 365 days a year. On April 15-17,
young people will design and lead service-learning projects
in areas such as literacy, the environment, healthcare,
hunger, public safety and more. National Youth Service Day
engages millions of young people in service and draws together
a remarkable consortium of local, regional and national
partners, while supporting youth on a life-long path of
service and civic engagement. To strengthen this effort,
State Farm Companies Foundation is the Presenting Sponsor
of National Youth Service Day 2005.
"Service is a key component of Camp Fire USA,
and we're honored to serve as a National Partner once again,"
said Stewart J. Smith, CEO, Camp Fire USA. "We strongly
encourage our youth members, as well as all of America's
youth, to take the initiative and make a difference in their
communities. Young people have so much energy to give, and,
through National Youth Service Day, they can increase their
experience and solidify their commitment to bettering the
world around them."
Camp Fire USA councils across the nation will
be conducting unique service-learning projects to fill their
local community needs. If you are interested in volunteering
for a Camp Fire USA project, please contact the Camp
Fire USA council nearest you.

Agencies for National Youth Service Day. The Lead Agencies
are local, regional, or statewide liaisons for National
Youth Service Day, promoting projects and celebrations,
coordinating volunteer recruitment, local media outreach,
and hands-on participation by elected officials.
