If driving to Kansas City, please include the following parking fees for the Westin Crown Center:

SELF-PARKING: $12.50 per day
VALET PARKING: $15 per day

In order to avoid paying the 14.85% Missouri sales tax on hotel expenses during the National Leadership Conference, each council must file a Form 1746 Missouri Sales/Use Tax Exemption Application with the Missouri Department of Revenue.

The process is easy.

1. Visit http://www.dor.state.mo.us/tax/business/sales/forms/1746f.pdf and complete the application online.
2. Mail the application to the state along with a copy of your council's bylaws, audits or 990's from the last three years, and a copy of Camp Fire USA's 501(c)(3) exemption letter. (Note: The exemption letter can be downloaded from the Camp Fire USA Café under "Resources" and "General Information.")

Within eight to 10 days of application, the Department of Revenue should respond with a Certificate of Tax Exemption.

After receiving the Certificate of Tax Exemption, provide a copy to each of your council’s representatives attending the NLC so that they may use it when checking in to the Westin Crown Center Hotel.

This Certificate will exempt the bearer from Missouri state tax, but not the local Kansas City Development Fee of $1.72 per room night. The Certificate must be presented during check in, or the tax will be added to the bill.

In addition to sales tax exemption for hotel expenses, the Certificate of Tax Exemption is also valid for meals and other conference expenses incurred within the state of Missouri.
