Awards
Two types
of awards will be presented at the National Leadership Conference
during the Saturday night Awards dinner: national
awards
and the
Annie E. Casey Family Strengthening Awards.
NATIONAL
AWARDS
Your
council is encouraged to participate in the nominating process
for the national awards outlined below. The NLC is a significant
event for Camp Fire USA, and the awards program is an excellent
way to showcase your staff, volunteers and youth.

AMOS
H. DUDLEY PROFESSIONAL LEADERSHIP AWARD
The Amos H. Dudley Professional Leadership
Award recognizes and encourages excellence in leadership among
the council executives and assistant directors of Camp Fire
USA councils.
The recipient
shall be a full-time paid staff member of a council in good
standing with Camp Fire USA National Headquarters and have
at least five years of full-time employment with a council(s).

FREDERICK
E. RUCCIUS VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP AWARD
The Frederick E. Ruccius Volunteer Leadership Award recognizes
and encourages excellence in volunteer leadership.
The recipient
shall be an officer or director of a board of Camp Fire USA
councils in good standing with Camp Fire USA National Headquarters,
have at least five years of service to Camp Fire in policy-making
positions, and be the recipient of the Gulick Award at the
council level.

YOUTH
OF THE YEAR AWARD
The Youth of the Year Award recognizes youth whose lives best
exemplify Camp Fire USA principles. The nominee must have
been a Camp Fire participant for a minimum of five years and
active in any of Camp Fire USA's nationally-recognized programs.

ANNIE
E. CASEY FAMILY STRENGTHENING AWARDS
In addition
to the above national awards, your council is encouraged to
nominate your own programs or services that strengthen families
for the Annie E. Casey Family Strengthening
Exemplary and Incentive Awards. These awards recognize
significant programs and services that strengthen families
in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, Community
Family Club.
The Annie
E. Casey Family Strengthening Awards booklet was mailed to
councils on May 12, and a second booklet was included in the
NLC registration packet for your convenience. If you need

NOMINATION DEADLINES
The deadline
for receipt of nominations for both the national awards and
the Annie E. Casey Family Strengthening Exemplary and Incentive
Awards is August 1, 2005.
