Council Consultant

Job Description
The Council Consultant's primary focus will be consulting with councils to assess, design and implement effective business and revenue generation plans that support achievement of Camp Fire's strategic direction: to deepen impact and reach measurably more youth and families with quality Camp Fire experiences. Critical to success will be planned growth in predictable, recurring and balanced revenue portfolio. The Council Consultant serves as a member of the Program and Council Effectiveness team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate success in assisting clients in strengthening leader performance, building a true learning organization, aligning culture to strategy and building capacity to achieve long term business goals.
  • Commitment to building long term partnerships/relationship with council clients that leads to greater trust and credibility.
  • Support councils in collecting and utilizing data as outlined, to proactively identify issues that affect individual, team and organizational performance, employee engagement, and business effectiveness.
  • Shares and documents knowledge and lessons learned from others within and outside the organization.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to council board and staff leadership by providing coaching and guidance to enhance skills and align performance with organizational objectives.
  • Assist with the implementation of national initiatives, as required.

Travel
Approximately 50% travel regionally and nationally. Must have a valid driver's license.

Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in Education, Organizational Development, Psychology, Social Work, Child Development, or related field. Master's degree, youth development experience and affiliate system experience preferred; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience

Language Ability
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Theory of Change Ability

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing, Spreadsheet, presentation, and Internet software.
